The Trust is working to find a way to run Satipanya once Bhante and Noirin are no longer able to do so. The best option is to have a resident manager. We would be looking for someone or a couple who were prepared to stay for a minimum of five years. We could not afford to employ them, but we would offer a grant as well as full board and lodgings.
For the ordinary lay person, it is difficult to live in the centre long term with all its restrictions and lack of privacy. Our efforts to apply for permission to build a bungalow or cabin on the land next to us have been rejected. So our only option is to buy a bungalow or house nearby, as close as we can to the centre.
Property in the country is expensive so we need to build up an amount of £400K plus!!! It's an enormous amount. But to date the centre has cost over a million pounds. So we have no doubt that the generosity of our supporters will allow us to buy a property in the coming years.
